I AM AN EX MORMON

Throughout my journey, I have come to know four different groups of Mormons.

  1. Those who know the truth but do not care.
  2. Those who know the truth but cannot leave due to rejection of family members.
  3. Those who do not care to know the truth.
  4. Those who do not know there is an option to find out the truth.
My heart breaks for anyone who falls into one of these four categories.

I can relate to every single one of these stories on iamanexmormon.com. I recommend taking some time to listen to a few of them.

I know the LDS church is not a true church. When I first found out the truth about Mormonism and left the LDS church, I was extremely angry. Those feelings are finally beginning to subside. My name is Becky; I am a Christian, a wife, and a mother. I am an Ex Mormon who is finally and completely happy with myself! I am truly blessed to be a stronger Christian now than ever before!

Thank you for reading my life story. I am now closing this chapter of my life!

    1. Mark,
Thank you for taking the time to follow my journey. I have not forgotten the fifth group you are speaking of. If you will notice the first three words of this post, these are the four groups of Mormons I met throughout my journey out of the LDS church. Not only did I know the fifth group while I was a member, but I fully belonged in that fifth group myself.

  3. I agree that the people aren't always perfect. No group is. There are some who dont care for me and make it difficult. But I try to forgive them. In my missionary experience, most of the people who have left was because someone offended them. I hope your journey brings you back someday. regards, chris says hi.

    1. I hate that some have made things difficult for you. I hope you have not been treated poorly; I know exactly how that feels. My intentions were never to offend anyone since no one had initially offended me. This blog is simply my way of working through the emotions of leaving the church. Although I have left, I do cherish those who have kept me in their life. It is wonderful to know there are still people who can remain friends despite different beliefs. Hi to Chris!

  4. Hi, Never-mo here. Thank goodness there are some ex-mo Christians providing a much needed service. Lord knows there are plenty of ex-mo atheists blogging away. I have read things on sub-reddit ex-mo and other boards which make me shudder. It seems many ex-mos are so angry about the farce that is mormonism that once they find out the truth about it, they throw Jesus out "with the bath water." So many are turned off by religion that they are perfectly happy to swing to the other extreme and deify science/naturalism. It makes for a double tragedy: the first being in a cult, and finally, to reject God & Christ instead of dusting off their barely used New Testaments and finding out what the real gospel is. I intend to read your blog extensively in order to detox from reading so much hateful & blasphemous garbage on the other ex-mo forums. God bless.

  5. I hope you don't mind my leaving a second comment. The other day I read that the Mormon organization sponsored some sort of Easter commercial, and many ex-mos said they hadn't a clue as to what Palm Sunday was until they left the LDS church. It is terribly sad Mormons don't bother finding out what the New Testament says. They should start with the 4 gospels and continue on through Revelation, and ask God to open their eyes to the truth.
